In response to customer requests, Silex has created a patch to provide SDIO support in the ath10K driver. With this update, customers using QCA9377-based radio modules can benefit from enhancements and updates in the Linux kernel offered by the open source community. Silex released a new version (12.2.x) of the UART AT Command Set for Qualcomm's Ultra Low Power Wi-Fi IoT Soc QCA4010. Using the new SX-ULPGN-EVK-AT, you now can quickly evaluate our AT Command Set. For example, you can add a serial-to-Wi-Fi converter for existing MCU-based designs without porting any host driver.

Ofcomm Changes to the GHz Wi-Fi Band in the UK


The Office of Communications in the UK updated their regulations to allow Wi-Fi use in the 5.8 GHz band (U-NII-3). This opens an additional 125 MHz of spectrum in a ‘sub-band’ within the 5 GHz frequency range for Wi-Fi while ensuring protection for other users, such as satellite services. With this update, Wi-Fi users in UK will benefit from higher connection with fewer delays.

Based on the QCA6320 Qualcomm chipset, the SX-PCEAD implements the IEEE802.11ad WiFi/WiGig standard in 60GHz band for high-speed communication.  Signals in 60GHz band do not easily penetrate walls, so this is an ideal product for short range, in-room applications such as IP docking, video streaming, and high-resolution medical imaging.
